ECS
The NetSpira Enhanced Charging Solution
(ECS) is a suite of applications that
allows mobile wireless operators to solve
their service differentiation and traffic optimization needs when deploying advanced
data services.
At its core lies a powerful traffic classification
engine that allows the detailed analysis
of the data sessions via a stateful deep-traffic
inspection algorithm of extremely high
performance. It is combined with a configurable
rule based action engine that enables
an easy deployment of control and charging
algorithms.

Applications
The NetSpira ECS is composed by a series
of different modules that can be flexibly
deployed depending on the specific customer
needs. As a stand alone charging node it
can process all the data traffic and perform
charging and real time prepaid control of
the service delivery. It can also be deployed
for certain specialized activities within

Charging of IP Multimedia
Services
The NetSpira ECS product can analyze, classify and charge
IP multimedia services, including SIP,
allowing operators to tap on IP-multimedia
revenues even when provided over the Internet.
Charging model can be volume, time or
transaction-based.
Service-Based QoS Policy
NetSpira ECS can enforce different QoS to different services
and subscribers. Efficient use of network
resources is crucial for an IP-multimedia
offering which has to be economically
viable and, at the same time, provide
an excellent user experience.
Standards
The NetSpira ECS brings today the benefits
of advanced technologies, such as IP-multimedia,
and at the same time provides a future-proof
and evolutionary solution which will support
upcoming standards (e.g. UMTS IMS).
